Reception - SEEING IS BELIEVING

The Ansel Adams Gallery is hosting an artist reception for my show, Seeing is Believing, on Wednesday, June 13 from 3 - 5pm at the Gallery.  Lots of folks are coming, and I hope you can, too.  So far it's been some solid sales and a really great response to the new work.

The show consists of  a "near and far" idea through the winter months of painting for this Spring Show!  It was fun as I'm not used to painting flowers, but I did - flowers and far away mountains.  I learned a lot about depth in designing these paintings and truly delighted in studying the flowers in my flower books!  There are some (non-rainy day) plein air paintings mixed among the studio pieces.  I've produced a handsome poster for the show which retails for $35 available at The Ansel Adams Gallery.  See  here  for a link to my Ansel Adams Gallery page on their website.

I'll be painting in Cook's Meadow (across from The Ranger Club building) from 11am to 1pm, then take a break, then over the reception.

Hope to see some of you!

We wait all winter to get across the road to the Eastern Sierra and then the day comes, the Tioga Pass opens, and then we can hardly wait to gather up a coat and make the trip over the big hill.  This year I went for two days and did two paintings - one in Tuolumne Meadows and one at Mono Lake.  I felt a deep joy at being in my "heart country."  Mono Lake has always been a special place to me since I was 18 and newly arrived to Yosemite Valley to work at the Ahwahnee Hotel.  I discovered backpacking and day hiking and could not be stopped.  This painting was done en plein air as the snow was melting at Tioga Lake in a cold wind where I was bundled up heavily.  Hat, gloves, sunglasses for the glare off the snow, and a soaring heart to be in the High Sierra once again!  And now on to summer, warm days, melting snow, and joyous views!  Have a trip planned?
