I can't believe it's September and school is in, and nights are cooler, and summer's end is near.  My challenges with Vertigo are over and it has seemed to pass (hopefully forever as this is a thyroid issue of mine).  I feel good, and very happy to be an artist again.  I've had several good trips to the Eastern Sierra for plein air painting and teaching which fills my soul with visual music.  I thrive in the high desert landscape and paint it with abundant emotion.  I will do some large works this winter from many of the "smalls" I've done in the field.  I want to paint the rolling golden hills of Mariposa too.

Currently preparing for SIERRA ART TRAILS here at my studio - October 3-4-5, 2014 - with four other artists at my home studio.  We are part of over 100 artists who open their studios for the public to see "where the magic happens."  Or, all the hard work!  If you are planning a trip to Yosemite, please stop by and say hello.  I'll be doing a garden painting "demo" each day at 1:00pm.  And everything is on sale starting at 20% and up . . . .We have a lot of fun these three days and it's fun to have people in the studio  . . . .

I feel so blessed to be able to paint each day . . .  To have the time, to participate in the market of art, to have good friends and family and beautiful places to be in.  I truly want for nothing!

If you cannot stop by for Sierra Art Trails, call and make an appointment to see the new work in my studio.

Be well and happy,

Penny

ps:  Three of my pieces are being featured on merchandise for YOSEMITE FACELIFT 2014 - a tee shirt (full color), cup, and canteen.  This late September event in Yosemite is a huge clean-up of the park sponsored by the Yosemite Climbing Museum.  I am truly honored to be the featured artist this fall!
