This painting was completed in the field at Mono Lake in 2022 around the time I teach for the Mono Lake Committee in Lee Vining. I always go a few days early and paint the Mono Basin that I love so much. I like to paint here because I can see farther than in many Yosemite Valley scenes, so there is distance and closeness. This painting is framed in a pale wood float frame.
